“Forty years after the Teneguía, La Palma, Canary Islands relives a volcanic eruption. Yesterday at 6.20 (GMT), seismographs to the National Geographic Institute (IGN) has deployed around the island of El Hierro began to show an anomalous signal. Since the July 19 began the seismic crisis , marked curves and small jumps for each of the more than 9977 earthquakes. After a day of uncertainty, rumors and denials, Carmen Lopez, head of the volcanology of IGN, just after 22.30 confirmed that there had been a submarine eruption and said he was dating magmatic material. According to Lopez, the seismicity suggests that occurred three miles south of the island and 900 meters deep. Experts do not rule out that another eruption could occur closer to the coast but consider the low probability.

Experts believe that the earthquake on Saturday in El Hierro does not increase the risk of eruption

What will happen in El Hierro?

El Hierro suffers the greatest magnitude earthquake from seismic crisis began.    The Army sent a unit to assist in the work of “prevention” in El Hierro

The submarine eruption has occurred five kilometers away from the coast and 900 meters deep – MARIANO ZAFRA

The scientists listed various circumstances that test the eruption: detection by seismographs of the call “volcanic tremor” , the deceleration of seismic movements, the decrease in magma pressure, thereby reducing the swelling of the island, and the issuance of gases, which has affected marine life, according to pictures broadcast but not discussed by the authorities. They can see dead fish floating in the water. There is no visible evidence, as the huge column of water prevents gas to surface water to the surface.”

10/2/2011 — Global Earthquake and Volcano Overview = large quake downtick – possible buildup?

This “forecast” applies for the next two weeks from today : 10/2/2011 @ 700pm CDT.

————————————

In the last 14 days, we only see ONE 6.0+ magnitude earthquake being recorded.

Compared to 2-3 weeks ago.. we were seeing approximately ONE PER DAY.

This is a NOTICEABLE down-tick in large earthquakes.

The 5.0 and 4.0 magnitude earthquakes are continuing around the ring of fire… to the north in Alaska, and to the west.. Japan .. to the southwest in Vanuatu, New Zealand, Indonesia and the Philippines.. these west and south Pacific areas are the most active, and I believe the other areas of the Pacific are trying to “catch up” to this movement.

2.0 and 3.0 along the north american craton.. I name all the US states in the video.

As long as the West Pacific keeps showing this activity, we can expect a 5.0 and greater threat watch in all the named areas around the ring of fire… and even along the craton edge.

Across the cratons of North America and South America… Puerto Rico at the center east… watch these areas as well for the next few weeks (5.0 and greater).

Europe, watch for 4.0 to 6.0 threat watch.. 4’s and 5’s to the north and west of the Alps.. 6.0 threat further south into Greece and the Mediterranean Sea — east to Turkey.

Continue to watch Japan for large earthquakes greater than 6.0…. Alaska is due for another 6.0 or greater as well… next two weeks.
