It appears a NEW eruption point has broken out at Bardarbunga Volcano in Iceland!
Something is going on out of view of the camera directly in front of the mountain peak the cameras are on.
October 29, 2014 — This 3hr time lapse video (sped up 40X) from 5pm – 8pm (Iceland local time) shows the new volcanic plume rising very close to the stationed webcam.

The new volcanic fissure must be forming along the slopes of the mountain top which the webcams reside upon. I would say this new fissure forming is rather unexpected, due to its proximity to the cameras.
This new fissure is currently melting the icesheet / snow / glacier above it, causing large amounts of steam to rise, mixed with volcanic gas.. forming a plume of dark smoke/steam reaching out across the volcanic basin of Bardarbunga.
No “glow” from the new rupture is visible (yet), however unless the lava below stops rising, we can be certain this new rift will behave like the original rupture has over the past 2 months.
Having a new fissure forming miles away from the original (and still heavily active) rupture, which is seen glowing in the background, is something we need to keep watch upon.
If any more areas begin to rupture, we might be looking at a large scale eruption following the weakening of the crust above the magma chamber showing such large scale unrest.
